Bring colour theory to life with this engaging portrait activity. Students explore warm and cool colours by colouring each part of the face using carefully chosen hues. This task helps them understand how warm and cool colours sit on opposite sides of the colour wheel, how they can work together, and how contrast can be used to make features stand out. It’s a simple yet effective lesson that develops colour awareness, and results in a striking, expressive display.

There are many more colour theory art lessons on The Arty Teacher website.
I bought an earlier male face and was looking for something similar but in the female form. This is perfect now everyone can engage. BTW the fact that Arty Teacher resources are in both spellings of the word COLOUR saves me trying to manipulate documents. TIME SAVING and great to leave with casual teachers!!!!

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.
I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.
I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
