Description

Natural Forms Collaborative Artwork: Creating this collaborative artwork teaches your students observational drawing skills using pencils or coloured pencils. Also, to work as a team.

Students work in groups, with each drawing a piece of the picture that combines to create a large artwork. The lesson plan is full of useful advice. 

  • The 16 pieces combine to make an A0 artwork or an ANSI E size artwork.

The PDF can be printed A4 or letter size.

This download includes:

  • A 16-page PDF in full colour for those who want to work with coloured pencils.
  • A 16-page PDF in black and white for those who want to work with drawing pencils.
  • A lesson plan that includes: Preparation, introduction, demonstration, development, plenary, extension task.
  • A complete image of the Natural Forms in black and white and colour to show students.

Materials required: Drawing pencils or coloured pencils. Paper. You could use transfer paper if you wished.

Sarah Crowther – The Arty Teacher

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.

I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.

I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
