  • Autumn Wreath Lesson Plan - Just what I needed!

    First, my reason for buying this was to get the leaves templates. But I am an American with a teaching certificate K-8 Language Arts. I would say from reading it over that it’s a good lesson plan. Past that, there’s differences in American and British lesson plan presentation, so I won’t comment further to that. The leaves pdf is super and I’ve bookmarked and joined the site for future interest. Thank you!

  • Thank you for your wonderful resources!

    I studied Art in college but I ended up with a degree in Education. I am very rusty on my art skills right now but since I was diagnosed with Leukemia two years ago, I really needed something in my life to help me relax and something to do since I can no longer work. It also is a great source of healing for my mental health and anxiety. These courses have been helping me greatly by jumping into art again and learning so much. I am so grateful to artists like yourself for helping us that at starting over again or beginning. Thank you again. You are helping someone more than you will ever know.

    I love the Inktober calendar that is already made for me. Saved me time and helped my students and I out!
    I have also purchased from the site and loved the letters that I had students zentangle for future bulletin boards. Great for early finishers. Quality ideas and lessons!

    I downloaded the “Draw A Butterfly With the Grid Method” to use as a substitute art less plan. I am very happy with the download! It includes 3 different butterflies drawn over a grid and another grid right on the same page –making a one page assignment that is easy for a substitute teacher to use with simply this one page and a pencil!

    I needed a small, non-clay sculpture lesson for my 4th graders. I was delighted to find the Amsterdam houses made with toothpaste boxes, which was perfect for my situation having no storage space. Thank you for such a great idea!

  • Feeling Inspired

    Feeling really inspired by all the art-based resources on this site. Designed and written with the busy teacher in mind, each one is going to get my students fired up to create. I particularly liked ‘Natural Forms Artists.ppt’ as I can see how the beautiful imagery will inspire ideas for motifs in printmaking and stitch.

  • Nice resources, but not accessible.

    There are lots of nice resources, but they are not accessible for learners with reading difficulties who use assistive technology to support their reading. Many people with dyslexia and other reading difficulties are good at art, but will find it hard to read text in some of these worksheets.

    Sarah Crowther – The Arty Teacher

    I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.

    I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.

    I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
