During this 30-minute art literacy professional development course, you will be introduced to a broad range of methods to embed art literacy in your curriculum.

I will discuss the ways my department incorporated art literacy, which includes what an art-literate student looks like, passive and active vocabulary, oracy, how to encourage high-quality discussion, a method for structuring written work and annotation, and a range of literacy strategies and resources.

The price of the course gives you access to a range of art literacy resources valued at £15 on my website.

Once you have watched the professional development, you will be able to download a certificate that includes your name, the name of the course, and the duration to evidence PD hours. Although the video is 30 minutes long, the duration/PD hours on the certificate is 2 hours to allow you time to complete the tasks within and consider how you will integrate what you have learnt into your teaching.

This course is ideal if you are new to teaching or at the start of your career and would like the opportunity to dedicate some time to improving your acrylic skills and knowledge.

The price above is for one person.

  • Excellent, as usual

Great review of literacy use in the art classroom. I will employ these ideas in my high school art course next semester 🙂

Sarah, I love how practical your resources are, ready for use in the classroom. Thank you.

Sarah Crowther – The Arty Teacher

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.

I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.

I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
