Bio

I have almost 20 years of experience teaching A level Textiles Design and Art & Design, in a leading sixth-form college. I'm now a self employed artist, designer, printmaker and tutor. My own work is based on my original decorative floral lino cuts, which are then digitally manipulated. I run linocut printmaking workshops for adults and am now developing a range of workshops to run in schools and youth groups, including: linocut printmaking; lino and block print onto fabric; upcyling fabric and clothes through print and embroidery; print your own tote bags; block print using found objects; and print and pattern design. Workshops can also be developed on specific themes, or related to specific artists, (for example, Wm Morris, MC Esher for tessellating patterns etc) depending on your needs.

Experience in Schools

I taught A Level Textiles Design and Art & Design for Almost 20 years at a sixth form college, in Stourbridge, where I was subject leader for Textiles Design. I have also taught GCSE and A Level Art at a private school in Birmingham at the beginning of my career.
